The ask is one quarter you have already filed
Not your current one. A quarter that is done, submitted and settled — because that quarter has a known-correct answer, and comparing against a known-correct answer is the only thing that proves any of this works.
You would never file from CabPurser's figures. That is not a disclaimer, it is the design.
It runs beside your filing, not instead of it
-
1 · You file as usual
However you do it now — your preparer, your spreadsheet, your service. Nothing about that changes.
-
2 · You enter a finished quarter
Miles by jurisdiction, gallons bought, fuel type, dates. From a quarter already submitted.
-
3 · You compare
CabPurser produces a total. The estimator takes what you filed and does the comparison for you — and the link it gives back carries the whole quarter, so sending that link is the entire bug report.
-
4 · A mismatch is the point
Every difference is a bug report with the right answer already attached — which is worth more than agreement is. If it matches, that is one data point. If it does not, that is a fix.
A quarter you have already filed carries a verified answer and no exposure. A live quarter puts a real penalty on a product nobody has validated yet. That distinction is the difference between a test programme and a liability, and it is not negotiable here — a wrong figure on a real return costs a real carrier real money.
Four things, and nothing about you
-
Needed
Miles by jurisdiction. Gallons bought, and where. Fuel type. Dates. That is the whole list — it is everything the arithmetic touches.
-
Not needed
No USDOT number. No driver names. No customer or load details. None of it is required to check arithmetic, and not holding it is the cheapest possible way to never have a data problem with it.
If a question ever asks for more than the four things above, it is a mistake and worth saying so.
What has to be true before anyone files from this
Publishing the threshold matters more than describing the ambition, so here it is.
20 matched returns across at least 15 jurisdictions, including at least two of the 3 that carry a surcharge (Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia). Until that is met, nobody is told to file from CabPurser output — not testers, not customers, not anyone.
The surcharge condition is deliberate. It is the part of the return that inverts, and it is where this product has already shipped a real bug once. A run of matched returns that never touched a surcharge jurisdiction would prove the easy half.
What you get, and what is not being promised
-
Costs nothing
There is no billing at all yet — not a trial, not a card, nothing to cancel.
-
Direct line
You would be talking to the person building it, not a queue.
-
Not promised
Anything about what it costs later. No price has been set, and inventing a promise here to make this ask more attractive is exactly the kind of thing this site does not do. When there is a price, you will hear it plainly.
Say roughly how many trucks and which states you run. That is enough to start.
